Can I really earn money in this business?
Yes, of course. There are two methods for earning income - Selling and Sponsoring. You can earn up to 35% upfront on your personal sales, and up to an additional 12% at the end of the month. As well, you can earn approximately
5% to 10% on the total sales made by other Consultants as you grow your business and sponsor people to your team.
Can I do this business part time?
Absolutely. In fact, that is the way most people start this business. Building your business will not interfere with your current job. You set your own hours. It is the perfect income opportunity for stay at home/work at home Mom’s or Dad’s or for retirees to supplement their income.
How long will it take me to start earning money?
Since you deduct your commission at the time you place your orders, you earn your first profit with your very first order.
How much does it cost to get started?
$14.95 in the US and Canada. After one year, you will also need to pay an annual membership renewal fee of $29.95.
Do I have to attend meetings?

I need to make a lot of money right away. Can I do that in your opportunity?
We are not offering a "get a rich quick scheme". It is a simple business that requires work and a long-term commitment to build a business based on integrity, professionalism, quality, and service.
What if I don't have the money to get started?
The nominal cost (about the same as a nice dinner for two) of starting your own business should not stand in the way of your future! Have a yard sale, start a change jar, borrow it, or set a retail sales goal! You can earn this money back very quickly. However, you have to decide how much you are willing to invest in your own future.
What if I need help after I get started?
Your Sponsor, Upline, and the Watkins Leadership Team are all there to help you. All are only a phone call or email away. The Watkins Leadership Team maintains a complete online training site for your 24/7 convenience that has conference calls, webinars, training meetings, videos, and various templates available to help you succeed.
What if I start with the intention of just buying my own products at wholesale and then decide that I would like to build a business later on?
No problem! Your initial start-up cost of $14.95 gives you access to ALL levels of the Watkins opportunity. You will not be required to purchase anything more if you decide to change your business plan or focus down the road.
Are there any sales or sponsoring quotas I have to meet?
No, there are no sales or sponsoring requirements placed on Consultants to maintain your membership. You can keep it small and part time or you can build a full-time income! My job as your sponsor is to help you reach your goals.
What will I need to get started along with my Membership fee?
We recommend that you purchase the products that interest you the most, especially if you are trying Watkins for the first time. By using the products in your own home, you become knowledgeable and confident to promote their quality and value to others. A package of Watkins Catalogues is also a good investment - what better calling card could you leave with a potential customer? If you have bigger plans to kick-off your business, your Sponsor or Upline will be able to work with you to get you off on the right foot.
Do I get a Website?
Yes, you will actually receive two personalized websites included with your membership at no extra charge. One focuses on the Watkins income opportunity (www.RespectedHomeBusiness.com). The second is where people can order products from your personal site (e.g. www.jrwatkins.com/consultant/lorie.hillen). Best of all, both of these sites are set up for you so you don’t need any technical skills or knowledge.
Can I use my business for tax write offs?
Yes. However, we are not tax experts so it is recommended you check with an accountant, but if you are genuinely trying to run a home-based business you may be able to deduct business expenses from your income.
Will I be allowed to advertise my business?
Yes, you may promote or advertise your Watkins business in a variety of ways as long as you identify yourself as an Independent Watkins Consultant. There is a Marketing Policy Guide available for reference.
Will I need to keep inventory?
Maybe. It is not a requirement to purchase inventory, however, if you wish to build your business using avenues like vendor events (markets, fairs, festivals, bazaars, shows, etc.) to market products it would be best to have products to display and sell. Additionally, once you start building a customer base it is also nice to have some products available for immediate purchase instead of having the customers wait for delivery.
What is the usual product delivery time?
There are two distribution centers: Minnesota, US or Ontario, Canada. Most orders are delivered within 5 to 10 business days. Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, Virgin Islands, or APO/FPP addresses may take 2 to 3 weeks for delivery.
Is there a need in my area?
Absolutely! We don’t think there is any area of the US or Canada that has “too many” Watkins Consultants. And there are no territories!
